What do you get when you cross Indian Jazz guitar, Carnatic Indian vocals, Persian guitar and percussion and Imrat Khan?
Performed in the beautiful sanctuary of First Congregational Church of Webster, this evening of beautiful music explores the devotional, romantic and exciting moods of Indian rag blended with modal jazz harmony and an undercurrent of Persian rhythm.
Creating a very expressive and original form of fusion music, Mosby performs on the Imrat Guitar (the only one of its kind in the world) while accompanying the soaring vocals of Seema and Farshid providing his gypsy style guitar and percussion.
What makes this ensemble unique is all members crossed paths with Saint Louis’ greatest Ustadt, Imrat Khan as devoted students and personal friends.
